Suntory Hakushu 12yo / 43%
70cl / 43%
A perennial favourite and a must-try for anyone interested in discovering Japanese whisky. Hakushu is owned by Suntory, founders of the first Japanese distillery, Yamazaki. The original Hakushu distillery was built in 1973, with another distillery building called Hakushu Higashi (east) added in 1981.
Suntory Hakushu Japanese Single Malt Whisky 18yo
70cl / 43%
A massive step up in quality from the standard Hakushu 12 yrs, this 18yo is amazingly well-defined (as we've come to expect from Japanese whisky) with deliciously rounded fruit and cereal flavours, at times surprisingly reminiscent of the finest Irish potstill whisky (eg Redbreast 15yo).
Nikka Coffey Japanese Grain Whisky
70cl 45% vol
Japanese Grain Whisky
A release of grain whisky from Japan's Nikka, produced mainly from corn using one of their continuous Coffey stills. Rather than the rare and limited releases they have done before, this is a larger release to further show off this key component in the Nikka family of whiskies.
Bunnahabhain 43 Year Old - Director’s Special The Single Malts of Scotland 70cl
A single-cask release of Bunnahabhain from the Single Malts of Scotland, bottled as part of the Director's Special range. This was distilled back in 1975 and aged for 43 years in a single refill-bourbon hogshead. Over the years, its strength has naturally dropped, concentrating its flavour. The result is a soft and fruity whisky that shows the delicacy of Bunnahabhain's normally boisterous spirit.
Balblair 1991 3rd Release
The third release of Balblair's 1991 vintage is 27 year old, this time bottled in 2018. Matured in ex-bourbon casks for 24 years, before being transferred to ex-sherry butts for a further three, this combines Balblair's typical citrus and orchard fruit notes with rich chocolate, dried fruit and honey.
Tasting notes from the producer
AROMA
The nose is expansive and complex with rich citrus fruits and vanilla notes, toffee and chocolate. The American oak ex-bourbon barrels and Spanish oak butts used in the maturation impart notes of honey, winter spices and apricot with just a hint of liquorice in the background
PALATE
On the palate Balblair's signature style of citrus orchard is followed with rich creamy chocolate and layers of stewed apples and pears, Christmas pudding and hot vanilla sauce.
FINISH
The finish descends slowly into brighter tonality, sparkling orange and toasted coconut overtones, accentuating full-bodied sweetness of vanilla and caramel. A rich and celebratory dram.

Ardbeg 25 Years Old Director's Special Whisky Show 2019
A very special release of 25-year-old Ardbeg, bottled by Elixir Distillers as part of the Single Malts of Scotland Director's Special range in honour of the Whisky Show: Old & Rare's third outing. It's a classic Ardbeg of the era, with a mix of smoke, brine, fruit and tar that immediately conjures visions of the seashore by the distillery.

Amrut Fusion Indian Single Malt Whisky
Amrut Fusion gets its name from the fact that it uses two barleys: Indian and Scottish - with the latter being peated for good measure. Fusion has been picking up awards ever since it first appeared in 2009, and in 2012 was named the best whisky for a Rob Roy in the Ultimate Cocktail Challenge in New York.
Tasting Notes
NOSE
Fresh and tinned fruit – peaches, mangos, apricots, plus spicy cinnamon and clove, joined by aromas of Earl Grey tea and just a touch of smoke and sea spray.
PALATE
A real hit of fresh fruit and citrus-orange notes, with black pepper and cinnamon adding a zingy layer of spice. Rich and refreshing; absolutely delicious.
FINISH
The spice and fruit linger for a long time.
