Standing at 142mm by 52, the Idílicos vitola of the Montecristo Open Slam cigar is a relatively new shape within the Cuban cigar world. Joining the established Montecristo Open range, which was released in 2009, the brand is now available in boxes of 15 and 20.
In 2009, the Open line of Montecristo cigars was introduced, debuting at the Habanos Festival in February and shipping globally just four months later. Two cigar sizes - Eagle and Regata - were unprecedented in the Cuban cigar market. Habanos marketed the Open line specifically to those who "enjoy al fresco," highlighting its relevance to outdoor sports.

Habanos SA is introducing a new extension to its Montecristo Edmundo line with the Montecristo Wide Edmundo.
Montecristo Edmundo is a series under the Montecristo line named after Edmund Dantes, the title character from The Count of Montecristo.
Keeping to the theme of 50+ ring gauge the Montecristo Edmundo releases are known for, the Montecristo Wide Edmundo is a Duke No. 3 measuring 54 x 125 mm (54 x 4 59⁄64″).
It will be presented in ten and 25-count boxes. Habanos SA says a tube offering will also be offered.
