The Cigar
Not strictly a Limited Edition as the tobaccos are not aged in the same way, the cigars are not dressed with maduro wrappers and they are not adorned with the second band. Nonetheless it is a fantastic cigar and a great way to mark the 80th anniversary of the world’s most popular Havana brand. This cigar is already a collector’s item and is, unusually, presented in boxes of 20.
Montecristo Brillantes Year of the Dragon
Montecristo Brillantes have been created by Habanos.sa in celebration of the Chinese Year of the Dragon. They are presented in stylish red lacquered boxes containing 18 cigars. Each box is numbered and only 18,888 boxes made for global distribution.
These rare cigars are sure to become collectors’ items but if enjoyed now, the cigar smoker can expect rich aromas with the spice and ‘tang’ that has made Montecristo’s medium to full bodied blend the benchmark for many aficionados.
The cigar is a unique size within the Habanos portfolio and known as ‘Venerables’ in the factories of Cuba. They measure 5” (128mm) x 53 ring gauge and are dressed with a standard Montecristo band and a specially designed red foot-band bearing a dragon emblem and the legend “Year of the Dragon”.
This is the fifth release dedicated to celebrating the lunar New Year following the Romeo y Julieta Maravilla 8 (2019), Hoyo de Monterrey Primaveras (2020), H. Upmann Magnum 52 (2021) and the Cohiba Siglo de Oro (2022).
Romeo y Julieta Amantes 150 Anniversary Gift Box
This year marks the 150th anniversary of the iconic Romeo y Julieta brand, celebrated with the introduction of a new vitola: Amantes. Exclusive to the 5-pack gift box, this cigar proudly showcases a golden “150” at the centre of its signature red band.
Crafted in the Sobresalientes format, it measures 6 inches in length with a 53 ring gauge—a first for the Romeo y Julieta lineup. Unveiled at the XXV Habanos Festival 2025, this commemorative cigar features the special 150th-anniversary band exclusively within this collector’s edition gift box.
Cohiba Siglo de Oro Year of the Rabbit
Beginning in 2019 with the Romeo y Julieta Maravillas No.8 (Year of the Rat), the Cohiba Siglo de Oro is the fourth release from Habanos s.a. to commemorate a Chinese lunar New Year (see attached).
The Siglo de Oro measures 4 ½” (115mm) x 54 ring gauge and is an entirely new size within the Habanos portfolio (Vitola de Galera is Exitosos or “successful” in English). Only 18,888 boxes of 18 cigars have been produced with each box housing a scannable chip secured to the inner lid allowing for instant authentication and information.
