In 2007, Habanos S.A. released the first Edición Regional for the country of Mexico, the Edmundo Dantes El Conde 109 Edición Regional Mexico.
Because Montecristo is a “global” brand it cannot be used for an Edición Regional. As such, the Edmundo Dantes brand was used for this release in Mexico 2011 only 1000 boxes released in 2011 and has aged increibly well. A beautiful crafted cigar packed with immense flavours.
Bolivar Silver Jubilee 2017 RE Hong Kong is part of only 2,500 numbered cabinets. An incredible cigar that is perfect to smoke on a sunny evening.
The Bolívar is a rather peculiar vitola because it has a 109-style cap, which is a hybrid between a normal round parejo and a tapered belicoso. Rather than coming to a point, the 109-style caps create a softer taper. It’s a cap that Habanos S.A. has typically used on much larger cigars and thanks to increasing popularity, many non-Cuban manufacturers have used it on other sizes.
For its 2015 Edición Regional release, German distributor 5th Avenue Products Trading GmbH, decided to go big, selecting the La Gloria Cubana brand and a sizable 7 1/16 x 54 double pyramid vitola known as the Rodolfo.
As we have described before Habanos S.A.’s Edición Regional program brings sizes and marcas together to places where certain brands aren’t as common. While the La Gloria Cubana brand seems to be fairly known, the size picked for this release is definitely the rarer of the two components.
La Gloria Cubana Glorias RE 5th Avenue 2015 was selected by Habanos for sale exclusively in Germany. There have only been 6,000 boxes made. A rare find.
Bolivar "Poderosos" is the vitola that has been selected by Habanos in 2013 for sale exclusively in Belgium and Luxembourg. These "Poderosos" are manufactured with selected leaves from the Vuelta Abajo, Pinar del Rio, and comprise a special and unique production of 2,000 individually numbered boxes of 25.
The Bolivar Poderosos (which translates to “powerful” from Spanish) is an extra large figurado, measuring 7 1/8 inches long by 54 ring gauge. The vitola is known as a rodolfo in Cuban cigar factories, and it’s a rarity.
