The Cigar

Description 

Made with tobacco aged for 6 years from the 2014 harvest. The first puffs pronounce notes of black pepper, oak wood and fresh spices from the aged Yamasá Visus filler tobacco. In the second third of the experience, the cigar develops a deep creaminess deriving from the Ecuadorian binder, which enhances the notes of leather and dark chocolate. At last, the cigar increases in intensity and pleases with robust dried fruit flavours, leaving a clean and long aftertaste.

Davidoff Black Band Limited Edition 2022 Gran Toro, a thick medley of sorts that combines tobacco from all three of its existing Black Band lines—Davidoff Nicaragua, Escurio and Yamasá.

At 5 1/2 inches long by 58 ring gauge, it’s made with an Ecuadoran wrapper, Brazilian binder and plenty of room for the filler blend of all the key Black Band tobaccos: Dominican, Nicaraguan and Brazilian.

The latest in Davidoff's Zodiac series, this beautiful Lancero size celebrates the Year of the Snake. 

The taste profile of the blend is quite unusual and a novelty for a Davidoff cigar: With flavours of lemon, leather and coffee, the limited edition cigar makes for a perfect introduction to the new cycle. Especially the Dominican San Vicente and the Mexican Negro San Andres filler tobaccos, which are both known to stimulate the areas on the palate responsible for sour and salty sensations, drive the fresh and lemony notes without ever overpowering the palate. 

The Year of the Snake Limited Edition 2025 comes in a wooden box of ten, which, like the Snake, is elegant, graceful and serene on the outside, but leaves the excitement inside for those who want to explore. A removable wooden frame adds to the excitement of unboxing and the novelties inside: Aficionados will receive their removable, numbered collector’s coin and can admire the second band of the cigar in red with a yellow accent.

The Year of the Dragon Limited Edition completes Davidoff’s cycle of twelve consecutive celebrations around a Chinese zodiac. The brand honors the important year with several limited-edition products inspired by the Dragon and its fascinating personality. 

The powerful Dragon requires an equal format, making this zodiac’s cigar the biggest creation out of all “Year of” executions to date. The double corona carries an eye-catching foot ring which covers the uncut part of the cigar. This enables aficionados to enjoy the first inch/2.5 cm of the masterpiece without the wrapper leaf, which creates an intriguing play of flavors and visualizes the Dragon spitting fire.

The blend consists of 8 tobaccos, combined for a total of 60 years aging. In 2024, this number will match the age of a person born in 1964, which is also a Year of the Dragon. This year’s edition comes in a handsome box of ten cigars. The top surface of the box shows a captivating iridescent varnished dragon skin pattern all over. The powerful Year of the Dragon icon in the center holds a pearl, which in Chinese culture symbolizes wisdom, prosperity and fortune.

A wooden tray inside the box reveals two cigar sections that are divided by a silky red ribbon inspired by the Dragon’s tongue.

TASTING NOTES:

1/3 – The uncut foot of the cigar offers an inch of enjoyment without the wrapper leaf, during which earthy, wooden and herbal notes are present. Once the wrapper takes over, the taste changes to rich notes of roasted nuts, cream and subtle liquorice.

2/3 – The intensity rises in the second third, when notes of sweet honey, white pepper and citrus dominate. The double corona format and 8 different types of tobaccos of a combined age of 60 years create and elegant and sophisticated taste journey.

3/3 – In the cigars final third, fresh spice and oak wood complement the dominating notes of dark chocolate. The intensity remains the same as before, making the last part of this masterpiece especially smooth and well-balanced.

The Cigar

Sir Winston Churchill was a man of many talents. He never ceased to inspire those around him with his diverse skills and interests, not only in politics and travel, but also in writing and the arts – often with a cigar in his hand, no matter the time of day or night.

Davidoff has translated Sir Winston’s multi-faceted character into complex multi-origin blends and formats that accompany aficionados throughout the day and into the night.

Davidoff launched the highly acclaimed Winston Churchill Limited Editions in 2016, with each release highlighting one of the many character facets of the iconic leader: The Davidoff Winston Churchill Limited Editions inspired by the Raconteur (2016), the Traveller (2019), the Commander (2021), or the Statesman (2022) have created excitement and increased desirability among customers. In 2025, aficionados will be delighted by another Limited Edition, which will be available in limited quantities and will showcase Sir Winston’s artistic personality: The Davidoff Winston Churchill Limited Edition 2025. The Churchill cigar is inspired by his character facet of the Artist.

The famed 151 wrapper was once the preferred format for appreciating the "Millennium Blend Lancero." Now, the Davidoff Millennium Lancero Limited Edition Collection allows smokers to once again experience its balanced taste.

The elegantly long Lancero presents an intense yet refined taste experience. At the start of the cigar, daring notes of oak wood and coffee accompany aromas of sweet prunes. In the second third, dark chocolate complements intense bouquets of almonds and white pepper. As the cigar approaches its grand finale, pronounced flavours of peat are finished with piquant white pepper and liquorice.

A new era of dynamic flavour begins. For the first time, Davidoff sets out from the Dominican Republic to explore new tobaccos and flavours in the wider world. And thus, the iconic Black Band graces a Davidoff cigar for the first time. To celebrate the tenth anniversary of this modern classic, Davidoff's Master Blenders set out anew to explore, adventure and discover, this time to climb to new heights of taste to match Nicaragua’s volcanic peaks.

The result is an experience of another level.

The tobaccos in this Limited Edition have been aged for an incredible total of 45 years.

Adding to the already-aged filler, binder and wrapper, Davidoff's Master Blenders also introduced a 9-year-old Estelí tobacco to the mix for the first time. But still they continued to pursue the extraordinary.

Not content with unearthing a new Nicaraguan variety, they aged the Estelí in rum casks for added depth and distinctiveness. Embarking through notes of roasted nuts, the taste gives way to oak wood and ends intensely with black coffee.

Due to the gran toro’s complexity, flavours and its full body, an ideal pairing companion to enhance the experience is a Nicaraguan rum. Its spicy notes and generally less sweet taste complement the cigar’s main aromas of roasted nuts, oak wood and black coffee nicely.

The 12 gran toro cigars come in a wooden box which displays the carefully varnished Nicaragua pattern.

The Siete Oscuro cigar was created by Davidoff Master Blender Eladio Diaz as a gift to himself and his friends for his 60th birthday - The name takes reference to the blend of seven (Siete) tobaccos that is crowned by a dark (Oscuro) shade grown wrapper leaf.

The dark, medium-bodied Toro cigar is charming with pronounced sweet nougat notes, deep coffee aromas and a compelling leathery flavour. Inspired by the autumn season with its obscure days and long nights when one finds comfort in more flavourful, sweeter cigars. 

The exceptional combination of aromas is supported by the vintage heritage: crafted in 2016 this small batch has been resting and ageing since.

In 1946, Zino Davidoff designed a line of cigars which would be crafted like classic Bordeaux wines. The blend would be selected depending on the soil and the climate in which the tobacco grew, just like the French ‘terroirs’. And just as Bordeaux wines blend three different main grapes, these cigars would feature three different fillers.

 Voilá, Davidoff Grand Cru cigars were born. Now, like the rich, ripe grapes of Bordeaux, the fruits of another piece of innovation have been harvested and turned into a truly remarkable cigar, one even more deserving of the title Grand Cru.

For the Diademas Finas Limited Edition Collection incorporates tobacco aged in Premier Grand Cru red wine casks from Bordeaux. In the spirit of Zino’s pioneering blends, this is the first time where a winecask aged tobacco has been used.

A San Vicente seco tobacco is matured for six months in the casks. As a result, the flavour carries the same notes which characterise the chateaux wines – dark cherries, walnuts and citrus. The combination rolls around in the mouth like wine being swirled in a glass. To add extra distinctiveness to this Limited Edition, it comes in the striking figurado format. The shape guides the palate towards the richness of the blend. Perfect to accompany a vintage bottle from France’s most celebrated wine region. For this is truly vintage Davidoff.

Bahia, with its proximity to the sea, boasts a humid and salty environment, resulting in robust and spicy tobacco. In contrast, the Dominican Republic, known for its consistent weather and freshwater sources, contributes to the blend's signature smoothness and creaminess.

This limited edition showcases Davidoff's unparalleled expertise, boasting a remarkable 45-year combined age for its tobaccos, an achievement unmatched by any other producer. To further enhance this masterpiece, a select Dominican filler tobacco has been meticulously aged in bourbon casks, imparting an exquisite depth, complexity, and a touch of sweet bourbon character.

With its generous 56-ring gauge, the gran toro format provides the perfect platform for this captivating blend. It allows the vibrant flavours of the Brazilian and Dominican tobaccos to fully express themselves, creating a truly dynamic and unforgettable sensory experience.

The Chefs Edition 2025 blend incorporates select tobaccos from Davidoff's iconic White Band Collection, mirroring the chef's signature lightness and finesse. To introduce fresh notes while enhancing complexity, Davidoff's Master Blenders meticulously experimented with a variety of tobaccos and ageing techniques.

Amongst other tobaccos, additional highlights of the blend include a Dominican San Vicente that was patiently aged for 15 years for exceptional depth, a Dominican hybrid tobacco for fresh lemon notes and a Dominican Piloto that was aged in Yagua bales for five years – a technique that has never been applied to tobacco in a Davidoff cigar before. The meticulous, labour-intensive traditional method involves carefully wrapping the tobacco in natural Yagua palm leaves, whose fibrous texture allows for a more refined ageing environment. This enhances the cigar’s smoothness, sweetness and complexity

The cigar opens with notes of cayenne pepper, followed by sweet whipped cream. The Yagua-aged tobacco brings complex floral aromas to the blend. As the journey continues, an impressive bouquet of flavours emerges. Cayenne pepper is still present in the retrohale, while notes of perfumy rosewood, leather and a subtle hint of lemon entertain the palate. Towards the end of the cigar, the intensity increases slightly, unveiling a crescendo of fresh spice, coffee and oak wood. Perfumed flavours from the second third give way to more robust notes. A true masterpiece that fills time beautifully for 60 to 80 minutes.

Made to celebrate Zino Davidoff's 80th birthday in 1986, the original Aniversario No. 1 honoured the occasion with its exceptional size and elegance. Today you can savour this re-rolled icon as Davidoff Aniversario No. 1 Limited Edition Collection.

The Davidoff Aniversario No. 1 with its impressive size allows for a pronounced development of all three parts of the cigar, during which the blend's sophisticated taste is brought out nicely. In the first third, herbal aromas complement warm notes of cedar wood and cream. Moving on, citrus and fresh spice are dominated by savoury roasted nuts. As the cigar approaches its grand finale, hints of fresh spice harmonise with flavours of walnuts and cedar wood.

The limited-edition cigar is presented in a 48 RG x 8 ⅔" double corona format.

Davidoff's latest addition to their collection features a cigar inspired by the 12 symbols on the Chinese Zodiac calendar for the 14th consecutive year. It marks the beginning of the second cycle of the calendar, making it a significant release. The cigars boast a blend of an Ecuadorian wrapper, binder, and fillers sourced from the Dominican Republic and Mexico's renowned San Andrés Valley. This is also the first time the brand incorporates a Dominican hybrid seed 98 from the prestigious Martín García region, situated west of Mao and south of Monte Cristi. Moreover, it is only the second time that Mexican tobacco has been used in a Davidoff blend.

In 2014, Davidoff successfully conquered the ultra-premium segment of handmade cigars with the launch of the Davidoff Oro Blanco Special Reserve 2002. THE CIGAR

The toro features a Dominican puro blend of vintage tobaccos from five different terroirs in the Dominican Republic. One of the areas in one of these terroirs is no longer cultivated by Davidoff, meaning that the cigar contains tobacco that aficionados will not otherwise be able to taste. While each of the tobaccos has a considerable individual age, the combined age of all 7 tobaccos is an impressive 111 years. This makes the Oro Blanco Special Reserve 111 Years the cigar with the most aged tobacco on the market. A definite must-have for aficionados who want to treat themselves to the finest and rarest of cigars. The new Oro Blanco is crafted by Master Roller supervisors with at least 20 years’ experience, and is only released once the Master Blenders have deemed it ready to be enjoyed.

These extraordinary efforts have resulted in an extremely refined cigar with a very sweet taste profile and a full body.
