Ramón Allones Cigars – Brand Status & Heritage
Established between 1837 and 1845, Ramón Allones is one of the oldest pre-Revolution Cuban cigar brands, steeped in history and tradition. The brand passed through several owners, including a notable period under UK importer Huntersbetween 1911 and 1927, before being acquired by Partagás.
At its peak during the 1920s, Ramón Allones was one of the most prominent cigar brands in the UK. However, from 1972 onwards, widespread size rationalisation at the Partagás factory led to the discontinuation of many vitolas, reducing its regular production range.
Today, Ramón Allones is classified by Habanos S.A. as a Value brand, producing full-strength cigars crafted with premium Vuelta Abajo tobacco. Despite a smaller core range, it is the most prolific and popular brand for Regional Editions, with new releases appearing regularly—making it a favourite among collectors and aficionados seeking bold Cuban character.
