Established in 1966, Diplomáticos is a post-Revolution Cuban cigar brand created to offer a refined alternative to the popular Montecristo line. Originally intended as a more accessible counterpart—particularly for the French market—Diplomáticos cigars share identical vitola sizes with Montecristo Nos. 1 to 5, followed by additional formats introduced in 1976 corresponding to the Montecristo Especial and Especial No.2.

Classified by Habanos S.A. within its “Other” portfolio category, Diplomáticos maintains a smaller market share but enjoys strong appreciation among knowledgeable aficionados. The range features medium to full-strength cigars, crafted exclusively with premium tobacco from the renowned Vuelta Abajo region.

Originally presented in Semi Boîte Nature (SBN) packaging, standard dress boxes were introduced around 1975. Since 2012, Diplomáticos has also seen select special releases, reinforcing its quiet but enduring appeal.
