Guantanamera Cigars – Brand Status & Overview

Introduced in 2002, Guantanamera is a post-Revolution Cuban cigar brand created as an accessible, mass-market option. Originally part of the Habanos S.A. portfolio, the brand was removed around 2005 and is now produced in Cuba by Internacional Cubana de Tabacos, S.A. (ICT) under licence from Habanos.

Guantanamera cigars are machine-made and crafted using short-filler tobacco sourced from the Vuelta Arriba region. The range is characterised by light-strength blends, pre-cut heads, and easy draw—making them ideal for casual, everyday smoking. Positioned at an affordable price point, they are designed for convenience rather than complexity.

In addition to standard vitolas, Guantanamera also offers Puritos and Mini cigars, with occasional special releases such as the Selección 13 pack. The brand remains a popular entry point into Cuban cigars for new and casual smokers.
