Specially manufactured to celebrate the 7th year of the 12-year cycle in the Chinese calendar, the limited edition pipes Year of the Horse are the seventh in a series of pipes that represent the Chinese Zodiac signs.
This year’s pipe is a classic Bent Pot in Group 5 (5115) in either Cumberland, Shell Briar and Shell Ring Grain finishes with a hand-cut taper mouthpiece made from a special darker Cumberland material that bears the famous White Spot.
Each pipe is fitted with a 10mm Sterling Silver band engraved with the zodiac sign of a horse and is supplied with a specially manufactured soft leather case, which is not available otherwise.
This edition is nominally limited to only 380 pieces worldwide in Cumberland finish, 28 pieces in Shell Ring Grain finish and 386 pieces in Shell Briar finish.
Since all numbers containing the digit ‘4’ pipe have been excluded (‘4’ stands for death in various Asian countries), there are actually only 306 pipes in Cumberland, 24 in Shell Ring Grain and 311 in Shell Briar pipes being manufactured, of which only 305 / 24 / 310 pieces will be offered for sale.
The edition number ‘1’ will be kept in the White Spot archive.
