As one would expect from a cigar that is named after such a powerful figure, this cigar is rich a full bodied. It is simply one of the richest and commanding brands within the Habanos portfolio. Although this is certainly not a cigar for the novice, these traits are what make it one of the most sought-after marques among the more experienced cigar smokers.

In 2007 Cigar Aficionado described Bolivar as having “a luxuriously textured smoke rich with profound wood and tobacco flavours”.

Min Ron NEE, in ‘An Illustrated Encyclopaedia of Post Revolution Havana Cigars’ says ‘Heavy “earthiness” is the hallmark of this brand. “Tangy flavours, fruity sweetness and strong toasted tobacco taste are also present in abundance’. He goes on to add ‘Bolivar is one of my favourite brands. If I was condemned to smoke only one brand, I have no hesitation that Bolivar would be the choice’.
